Sincere Sympathy

The sincere sympathy of Broomfield and District Residents Association is extended to the Lynch and extended Lynch Family, and to all who are bereaved by the recent passing of Christy Lynch RIP., Starinagh, Collon. You are in our thoughts and prayers at this sad time for you. Christy was a former Member of the Irish Defence Forces, serving with the UN in the Congo in the early 196o’s. He rose to the rank of Corporal, and was highly regarded as a soldier by those who knew him. Retired Members of the Defence Forces formed a Guard of Honour for Christy at the Church of Mary Immaculate, Collon as the cortege arrived for the Funeral Mass on Saturday last, and again at the Graveside at the burial ceremony. A Bugler played the Last Post and Reveille at the graveside also. Christy was a highly regarded Member of the Community, and served on the Committee of Broomfield and District Residents Association for a time, and on many other Community Organisations down the years. Broomfield and District Residents Association, Mattock Rangers GFC and Community Members provided a Guard of Honour, accompanying Christy on his final journey to the New Cemetery Collon for the burial service. Christy got a great send-off, as he rightly deserved. The large attendance at his Wake was testimony to the esteem in which Corporal Christy Lynch, UN Veteran (Retired.) was held in his own Community and further afield. Christy’s personal Tri-colour was flown at half mast at his home for the duration of his Wake and Funeral, the Tri-colour that Christy flew with pride on so many important occasions down the years. Ar dheis De go raibh a anam dilis.

Best Wishes

The best wishes of Broomfield and District Residents Association, and the Community is extended to all who are hospitalised or ill at this time. We wish you a speedy return to good health.
