The Los Angeles Lakers are 2-6 this season after a poor start to the season. However, the Lakers were 5-0 at one point and then registered two back-to-back wins. LeBron James and Anthony Davis turned around the situation for the Lakers. It is incredible considering LeBron’s recent fitness issues. Davis has been struggling with fitness issues this season as well, which puts coach Darvin Ham in a difficult position to manage minutes. LeBron, despite his fitness issues (foot), started against the Jazz in the Lakers’ loss. But it proved costly for the purple and gold, now that the 37-year-old has been struggling with his rhythm.

LeBron James has played all eight games for the Lakers this season. He has been averaging 24 points, 7.5 assists, and 9.1 rebounds per game so far this season. While these still are great numbers, it is far from the best LeBron James can offer. The Lakers were on a two-game winning streak and they called up both LeBron and Davis for the Jazz game to keep the momentum going.

However, the Lakers might regret playing LeBron, who hasn’t been able to practice. The 37-year-old has admitted that his ‘rhythm has been off’ as a result of it.

LeBron James unable to practice due to sickness

Lakers superstar LeBron James has recently been advised to stay away from the Lakers practice facility, according to reports. He hasn’t been able to train due to sickness. James has also revealed that ‘his rhythm has also been off’ due to the same.

The Lakers now face LeBron’s former side the Cleveland Cavaliers on Sunday. But the current status of LeBron will be a big blow to the Lakers, who desperately need wins at this stage. While resting LeBron may allow the Lakers to start him in the coming games, it may lead to a bigger issue in the this season’s playoff contention. Anthony Davis‘ health status will also be important for the Lakers if they want to qualify for the playoffs. Davis has missed 88 regular season games in the past two seasons.
